Title: Sending a bitstream to FPGA using FT601Q, is it possible?
Post by: nikolozglonti on August 11, 2020, 11:45:02 AM
Dear FTDI Society

I read that FT4232HL has a bitbang mode that allows to realize almost
all protocols from software.
So is it true, that I can use bitbang from FT4232HL to configure
FPGA(using SPI interface)?

And what if I want to use FT601Q? Can FT601Q bitbang a SPI bus to
program FPGA?

My FPGA will be spartan-6. According to paper from xilinx(
https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/user_guides/ug380.pdf) it
definately can be configured without JTAG(i want to leave this interface
as debug-only) - on 18 page there is Slave Serial Mode. I want to use
that mode.

Is it possible to make a Bitbang(or something like it) using FT601Q?
