Title: FT2232H - PWREN# rising up with no reasons
Post by: marco.bedani on February 24, 2022, 08:53:57 AM
Hi all,
we developed a PCB with a FT2232H chip in 245 FIFO configuration (see attached scheamtic).

Everything is working fine, except for the fact that sometimes, without no apparently reason, we lose USB communication between the PC and our board.
We think that this occurs when the PWRSAV pin goes high.

See attached image from the oscilloscope for the waveforms:
- pink trace is the VBUS on BCBUS7 (pin 59)
- yellow trace is the PWREN# (pin 60)

Any idea for how to solve this kind of issue?

Hello,

It sounds like there are hardware issues with your custom PCB.

Details on PWREN#:

Active low power-enable output.
PWREN# = 0: Normal operation.
PWREN# =1: USB SUSPEND mode or device has not been configured.

Please contact your local support office and we can review your schematics:

We do also have FT2232H based hardware that you can use for test, evaluation and reference.
