Discussion - Hardware / Problem with FT260 chip

Hi,
We have used FT260 chip as ordinary "USB to UART" converters in USB to RS485 application. In our application, we need COM port to be appeared in PC while connecting the FT260 to PC via USB. But it is only detecting as a HID device. We have built more number of boards with this chip.
-How can we make the chip to be appeared as COM port?.
-Whether we can we use this chip as ordinary USB to UART converter or this chip is only can be used in HID applications?
Could any one please help on this.
