Programming Altera Cylone II using FT232H
« on: January 23, 2021, 06:11:12 PM »

Hello,

I have made a PCB module with FT232H.
I am using UrJTAG to program devices. By using this Xilinx's Spartan 3, Spartan 6 and CPLD are programming successfully. Now I am trying to program Altera Cyclone II, Cyclone IV with the same platform but it fails to detect Altera device.
I also have Usb blaster. When I use USB Blaster with UrJTAG then it detects Altera Cyclone II, Cyclone IV and programs successfully.
But when i tried by using FT232H, Altera devices not detecting, even if i have added BSDL files for that particular devices. Sometimes it gives error like "TDO seems to be stuck at 1", but in hardware all seems good because in same way Xilinx devices are programming.
If there is any another way to program Altera Cyclone II/Cyclone IV using FT232H, please let me know.

Comment on this.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I would suggest that you will need to contact Altera to determine support for 3rd party programmers with their products.
If you are trying to clone FPGA programmers that’s not something we can support.
