Force FT4232H to Full-Speed (12MBit)
« on: February 08, 2021, 11:53:05 AM »

Hello,

I want to force the FT4232 into full-speed mode. But unfortunately I don't know how to do it. I soldered a 1.5k Pullup resistor (3V3) to the D + lead. But this was unsuccessful. I can still measure signals at 480MHz on the data lines. The problem is that my cable is 6m long and therefore 1m too long. Therefore I would like to try it at full speed this should run much more stable than the high speed variant. I can hang the FT4232 on a full-speed hub in the hope that the FT4232H will then run in full-speed mode.

Hello,

Does the device enumerate as Full-Speed when you are using this 6m long cable? Are you seeing stability issues?

Yes, attaching the device to a USB hub which only supports USB Full-Speed would force the device to enumerate as a Full-Speed peripheral.
